David "Grizzly" Adams

David "Grizzly" Adams grew up in Wyoming. He entered the US Army at 18 and worked his way into the SF community. After two tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq, he decided to go private and was vetted by DynCorp International. Due to his extensive experience with mountain warfare and survival, he was selected in 2005 to provide covert security for those tribal leaders who were friendly with the Karzai government. At that time, the Taliban was regaining strength in the hills of Afghanistan. Though President Karzai's government did not wish to use the DynCorp for his own security anymore due to their ruthless behavior, they were considered to be well suited to the task of watchdogs. Their mission was to observe and protect from a distance. If any large scale action was to take place, it was to be handled through the proper channels. Many times though, a single, well placed, bullet would do the job.

He is seen here as he was in 2005, armed with a Browning Hi-Power pistol, Bushmaster 14.5 in AR-15, and a Remington 700 with a Leupold scope. He is kitted out as much as a mountaineer as a warrior. Since he was to make as little contact as possible, he had to stay as self sufficient as he could and carried most of what he needed. He rarely smoked or drank, but his single vice can be seen here in this picture. The one thing that he asked for on all of his re-supply flights... Sour Cream and Onion Lays Potato Chips."
