VIETNAM LRRP
Submitted by: LT

A simple conversion done by attaching a WWII BAR Belt to H-suspenders. The BAR belts were used because of their large ammo and grenade capacity. An aircrew survival knife is attached to his shoulder with electrical tape (and a bit of glue). On the suspender yoke is taped a can of Serum Albumin, a blood volume expander used to keep BP up in the wounded while they await evac. The can was made from a smoke grenade. The CAR-15 had its stock shortened done by cutting a piece out. His pants are kept un-bloused so that water could drain out when crossing rivers and streams. Finally an ARVN backpack carries several canteens. The dehydrated LRRP rations need a lot of water to reconstitute.
