Japanese Model 92
Machinegun Project

By: BC Ries

Here are some pictures of what has been taking up most of my 1/6th scale time lately I've been working on this for a couple of months.

This is a Japanese 'heavy' Machinegun Model 92. This is the weapon the Imperial Japanese Army used for sustained fire, It is an Aircooled weapon but is capable of sustained fire much like watercooled weapons due to the massive fins and the resulting surface area for excellent heat transfer, that and a relatively cyclic rate.

My Model 92 is a combination of scratchbuilt parts and stuff from 21st .30 cal MG's. I still have some work to do but not much. I hope that all the folks that collect Japanese stuff enjoy these pictures and that more people get into 1/6th PTO stuff.

I took some shots with Yuri so everybody could get an idea of the relative size of this weapon. I plan to make a proper Japanese Army crew for this weapon in the near future.
