CUSTOMIZED VEHICLE PROJECTS
By: Checkmate King 2

I have been doing a little modeling lately to relieve some stress. I got a lot of support, inspiration and accessories from my local 1:6 club members. I don't even care about German stuff or all the tons of figures and accessories that flood the 1:6 market but I had to have this Sdkfz 250 from Armor Hobbies. As the first reasonably priced 1:6 scale kit type model, I felt complelled to buy it. As with all my vehicles, I have to customize it and make it my own. I gathered all my German accessories I could find and still fell short of what I felt I needed to do this.

Anyway, I made the Klaxon (horn/siren) from part of a SOTW bugle and some Sculpey, the different ammo and storage cans are from the TUS Bradley and the JC Penny Headquarters building. I made the front and rear gun mounts, the rifle rack, the storage rack for ammo cans, the width markers, the bullet rail, the drip gutter over the back hatch, the mud flaps and the back hatch locking system. I salvaged the bench seats from an old TUS Troop Carrier aquired in a trade, sectioned them and installed them behind the driver. I detailed the road wheels and molded storage cans inside the 250 and a control unit I turned into a radio mounted in the dash. I still need to get decals for this puppy and get it dirty before I think it's done. You know how I hate a clean vehicle. LOL !!!!
