| My brother, Mike, and an Army Major were coming back from the neighboring town of Eddyville when they were ambushed by a Waffen SS patrol. They lobbed grenades and blew their jeep off the road. The Major broke his leg when the jeep flipped, so my brother had to carry him away before the last grenade that they threw [that landed right behind them] blew up. |
