RUSSIAN & MAXIM GUN
By: Rich

Okay guys, a little change for me. Sawemoff2009's Update pics with the Maxim M1910 machine gun lighter inspired me to pull one of my Russian figures with the second Twisting Toyz' version of the M1910. Once I got that gun the picture on the blister pack's backing card told me just how to use this gun. DML's Dimitri had been out for a while now and I was able to pick up the figure to which I added the jacket and belt from DML's even earlier Dyagterev DP machine gunner that I had gotten spare copies. I had to leave off Dimitri's Naval shirt and just keep the blue and white striped undershirt under the padded jacket. A canteen, and PPSh41 ammo pouch with magazine were added, along with a PPSh41 itself. This was a very early DML version so I removed the elastic sling and made one with leather from a wallet kit, and an old Cotswold khaki sling. This allowed me to actually sling the weapon on the body unlike the later DML PPSh41s with their better looking sling. The gun is pretty much straight out of the blister pack and I plan to break down both of my Maxims and rebuild them in the near future. The vodka bottle was a Molotov Cocktail bottle from an old Hasbro set with the cloth wick removed. Hmmm, looks like I have a drinking theme going on with my last two figures.

I think you're right Rich, I think Sawemoff2009's lighter Maxim was pretty close to the same size as that Twisting Toyz one. Definitely a very cool looking little gun. I really liked your Russian too, very sharp. Special thanks for sending in these cool photos and sharing them with all of us. - GL
