DOWNED PILOT
By: The Soldier

This is a downed pilot over Somalia. A ranger with a TACP attached to them unit were sent to locate the chopper and any survivors. They were succsessful, however the pilot was too badly injured to move him. A Pavelow was called in with a pararescueman to extract the wounded pilot. As the PJ fast roped in the enemy keyed off of the Pavelow. Knowing there was boo-coo enemy, the Squad leader for the Ranger unit instructed the TACP to call in some A 10's or other guns to assist if needed. As the PJ assist the injuries the team was hit by a hasty ambush. The 60 gunner was hit, the PJ called the Pavelow off until the situation was under control. The fight was quick and furious as the enemy was pushed back. Boomer (the PJ) treated both Lt Col "Duke" McGee ( pilot) and Staff Sergeant Mickey "Ace" Spade for multiple injuries. All came home. Fast movers made it in and sheltered the Pavelow back to friendly lines. The diorama depicts the first initial hit of the ambush. -- The Soldier

Very nice work there soldier. It's definitely a sharp looking pilot you've got there. And the rest of the troops aren't too shabby looking either! Nice story and nice setup. All around great work. I can't wait to see your next project. Special thanks for sending them in and sharing them with us. Much appreciated. -- GL
