WWII GOUMIER
By: Graeylin

Here are pics of my latest, a WWII era Goumier. These were free french Moroccans, Tunisians, Desert Tribesmen who fought on the Allied side. They fought in North Africa as well as Italy, during the invasion and Italian campaign.

Goumier were rather "poorly" equiped in North Africa, typically wearing extra military uniforms from the 1930 surplus stockpiles. For many, this meant US or British clothing and equipment, suplemented with tribal extras, like their robe. All goumier wore their robe, usually with a Free French patch on the sleeve, to indicate their allegiance to the cause. Each robe was different, the patterns indicating the clan/tribe the wearer owed allegiance to back home.

This goumier is outfitted with a US khaki under sweater (for those cold desert/Italian moutain nights), and British kit/gear. He has supplemented his Bren LMG with a US ammo pack/pouch for extra magazines, slung to his side. He wears typical desert leather sandals.

10 points extra to the troopers who can tell me which TUS headsculpt this is!
