U.S. Marines 1st Squad
(Hurry up & wait)

This is only four of the Marines in 1st Squad and the Navy Corpsman. All geared up for a recon patrol and waiting for the go ahead.

U.S. Navy Seal rifleman (Vietnam, 2nd tour of duty)
Keeping in mind that back in these days the SEALS didn't have any set uniform. I used a custom made pair of black, pajama pants, a tiger strip shirt and one of my black head bands for starters. I added the sandals I made from a pair of British Paratrooper boots. I used the large pouches from a CQB vest that I had customized earlier and an old Vietnam, web belt that had a broken buckle to fashion the chest rig for his AK-47 ammo. I added a claymore shoulder bag, a web belt with machete and butt pack with canteen, lemon grenade and a couple of smoke grenades. He is carrying an AK-47 assault rifle and a 45 pistol in a Cotswold shoulder holster under his left arm. The SEALs adapted to their surroundings. Traveling light and using their enemies weapons and ammunition that they gathered from the bodies of their victims and prisoners.

U.S Navy Corpsman (Vietnam era)

I used the uniform from the Vietnam Series, Special Advisor and removed the emblems and shortened the sleeves. I ironed back the velcro flaps on the flak vest. I used a pistol ammo pouch, 2 Vietnam style canteens, one belt style first-aid pouch, a 45 pistol & holster on a Vietnam style web belt. I used British Paratrooper boots and left the pants un-bloused. I had a first-aid, shoulder bag made and also added a bandolier from the Vietnam Series to cross over his chest. The bandoliers were not used for carrying ammo but rather stuffed full of battle dressings and such. The helmet is a custom from Johns Stuff. Medics didn't wear Red Cross emblems on any of their gear. This might have made them better targets. I'm including a picture of the web belt and customized accessories because you really can't get the whole effect from the picture, do to the flak jacket hanging down over the belt. I took, Vietnam style canteens and first-aid pouch and bent the wire loop 180 degrees up (carefully, they break easily). Then I positioned them around a belt that was on a figure and marked their position. Finally I hand sewed a couple of stitches around the wire loop and threw the belt and there you have a more natural looking belt use during this period. When the belt is laid flat, the pouches and canteens are all pushed together but when it's on the figure, they space out nicely. The head used for this figure is a custom by Commando.
