SONS OF THE FATHERLAND

This is Erhard Rauss, SS Totenkopf Lieutenant. He is a line officer, veteran of the first war and though his rank isn't very high his opinion is very important amoung the high ranking officers. The Major-General figure is a excellant headscuplt (IMO) however I thought he'd look better with some greying hair. Officers Cap, badges and medals are Dragon. The rest are all TUS. I made him some wire-frame glasses out of hobby wire, they don't show up too well, you can see them in his hand in the lower photo. Hair has been added by using Dremel and then painting. Erhard is one of my better figures.

Last but not least are two of my NCO's, the backbone of my troops. On the left is Ethan Winters, Oberfeldwebel. On the right is Mathias Kessler, Oberfeldwebel, ( you may recall Sgt. Kessler from my winter photostory).

Ethan is a old Hasbro ACE headsculpt on a Superbody. He has lots of custom work done on the head and face. This includes Dremeled 5 O'clock shadow, face detailed painting, & a custom haircut. He is one of those figures I just keep going back to and adjusting this and that.

His uniform is TUS, painted buttons in field grey. It has lots of Cots medals, Sub-Commanders Iron Cross, custom Iron Cross button ribbon. I've given him a nice silk scarf to help against the winter cold, goggles, Cots cap and a pair of Dragon Jackboots. (Ethan is a talented shelf diver) A re-painted mapcase, and some leather straps on the fieldglasses and sling on his MP-40.

Mathias is a tougher-than-a-boot seasoned veteran of many engagements. He is a excellant soldier & natural leader. His uniform is TUS with painted buttons, Cots medals and custom Iron Cross button ribbon. He also has a silk scarf. He wears Dragon jackboots. His helmet is covered with a hand painted cover, and his field cap is a re-paint in field grey. All equipment is TUS except for suspenders and breadbag.

Of some interest is the stove, I'll be using it through-out my photostories. The house is the temporary quarters for the squad while in the Eastern front. I'll do some photos of it later. I'm asking you guys for help in naming some of my characters, good German names.I'll post a topic for it on the board in days to come.

I have to thank the following troops who are and were invaluable in helping me with these figures. K-43, you are amazing in your knowledge and a true friend. Corporal Jackson, Blitzjager, Sgt. Schultz, Exodius, Quik Blinky, KKFletch, Bravo 2-2, All-Mighty, Chairborne & Sgt. Rock.

I know there are more of you and I hate to rabble on but I apperciate you all.Last and certainly not least, GreenLeader, without your endless efforts I would not have this great site or enjoy this great hobby. -- Boogieman out.

Excellent work here all around here Boogieman! Definitely an inspiring bunch of WWII German customizations. Special thanks for sending them in and sharing them with all of us. -- GL
