Big Brother

"........Come to think of it, I'm not sure where that bastard's from. He just come riding up outta the wasteland one day on a banged up moto-kett draggin that ol' trailer of his..........dropped some nice coin in my lap. Who was I to keep him out of the city? Looked a damn sight better than the usual trash that shows up looking to get in. We ain't private, but we damned sure ain't lettin just anyone in. Last thing I need is one of them white suit VRF types showing up asking questions. Two more weeks till my promotion and off this damned wall.

Now we do get the occasional wanderer that thinks this is where paradise is supposed to be. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that the folks that pay to get through the gates to Nuevo Geddon don't pay for questions. They pay so you look the other way. I've worked this wall a long time.......I know real trouble when I see it. It's not like I turned a blind eye while some sand ferals crept in and spread their pestilence like what happened out at West Gate or that time Winkle fell asleep and them three crazies from the asylum made off with that gear from the museum.

All things considered, he looked to be almost clean.....too clean to be trouble. Hell, I didn't get so much as a click from the geiger, and that's something. He didn't say word one though, like being clear of any trace of radiation is normal. Smooth character but rough at the same time.........know what I mean? Just nodded and went about his business.

Now I hear a rumor bout how Talbot out on South Gate came into a nice bit of scratch. So I catch up to ol Talbot at Central one day. He tells me bout some citizen he ain't never seen before coming out to meet two rough types. Masked men he called em. Like they was banditos from them old stories. Says the man dropped a note and some coin on him, so he lets em pass. Told me the two masked guys gave him the willies sumthin bad. Says the moved and sounded kinda funny. I guess one of em looked his way and he dammed near pissed himself. Said whatever it was they was speaking, wasn't no language he ever heard before.....only thing he could make out was 'big brother'.

So I ask him what the note said, he tells me........... "no trouble."

Wow! Too freakin' cool, now that's some imaginative stuff there my friend. Some fantastic work and some terrific photos too. You picked a great location. Of course, the storyline was very very sharp as well. I can't wait to see more from this series. Special thanks for sending this terrific project in and sharing it with all of us. - GL
