'NAM ERA GUNTRUCK
By: Highwayman

The pics here are of the first large scale vehicle that I've ever attempted, and while she's not perfect I thought that you Troops might like to get a look at her. While not an exact Replica she's based on a Guntruck used by the 8th Transport Company during the Viet Nam War.

The last remaining Guntruck is on display at the Military Museum at Fort Eustis, Virginia, and her name is the "EVE OF DESTRUCTION" . The Guntruck that I patterned mine after was known as "The Iron Butterfly".

They were used as Convoy Escort Vehicles from 1967, all the way up until 1973, and two guys who crewed on them were given the Congressional Medal of Honor, for Bravery, Above, and Beyond the Call of Duty.

A nifty bit of work here Highwayman. I really would like to own a 1/6th version of that great vehicle myself. You've done some terrific work here scratch building this thing. Boy, I bet it looks impressive in person! Great looking Mutt vehicles with it too. Special thanks for sending this terrific project in and sharing it with us. -- GL
