WWII GERMANS
By: Christopher Holloman (aka fish_i)

The Peiper figure uses all 21c pieces. I hand made the deaths head for the hat and made a cast of the eagle from another 21c hat and placed it on the crest. The whole hat was repainted and I also painted the rank tabs on the collar. I achieved the "riding pants" look by placing some stuffing material on the insides of his pants.

The Eastern Front veteran or "foreign legion" SS trooper. The air cav pilot's face along with Borris's hat reminded me of photos I had seen.

The SS NCO helmet was made by stripping off the regular insignia and hand painting the others on. The rank insignia is also hand painted.

The DAK trooper was a German machine gunner figure that has originally had one of the "painted faces" and looked like a drowning victim. I found that paint stripper and a tooth brush would remove the paint and allow me to repaint as I saw fit.

Very nice looking German figures here all the way around Chris. I didn't see one that I wouldn't want to have in my own collection, but I think I'll have to go with that DAK soldier as my favorite here. You've done a great job on the weathering of his helmet and your repainted face is too cool. Special thanks for sending these in and sharing them with us. -- GL
