KILTED CONFEDERATE
MEMBER OF THE CHARLESTON, SC HIGHLANGER REGIMENT

By: Graeylin

This is one of the few groups in the CSArmy that wore Kilts, usually only at parades, recruiting, etc..

There are no reliable sources that have them wearing kilts in battle. However, one Highlander Officer, captured by Union Forces, commented "Had I known I would be captured today, I would have worn my kilt!" when taken prisoner.

I made the drum myself, to add interest to the figure. Both sides used drummers, usually younger boys as the war progressed, but I couldn't resist putting this bearded Scotsman into the kitbash, and the drum seems to add to his story greatly.

Another great kilted figure here my friend. I never knew that anyone in the Civil War on the Confederate side wore kilts. Special thanks for sending this cool figure project in and sharing it with us. - GL
