| I didn't find this out till much, much later that the Army Captain was really a German spy! He lived in the states, joined the Army in 1934 and reported our military stuff back to Germany. When the war broke out he somehow managed to stay in the states. Then he heard about the supply-journey to Marwencol and volunteered to go along. He brought a Sergeant with him (who was also a spy for Germany), so together they could map out the trail to our town and give it to their High-Command. The Germans planned on launching an air-raid on Marwencol and blowing it clean off of the planet... |
