ULTIMATE SOLDIER PROJECTS
By: Chris Holloman

Here are a few shots of images that I almost entered in the Enduring Freedom contest.

The first shot is made up along the lines of an image I saw of special forces patroling Kabul in the back of a white pick-up truck. This soldier has a custom painted face and a ammo waist rig that I hand stitched to match the photo. All the gear in this shot is 21c with the exception of the small maglight on his drop down holster.

The next two shots are of a soldier firing an AT4 rocket at a suspicious cave opening. The first is shot with a normal lense (in this case since I am using a 35mm camera the lense is a 50mm). The next shot is of the same set up but I used a wideangle 19mm lense. If any of you haven't tried using a wide angle for close up shots of your troops, you should try it out.

The next shot also uses the wide angle lense. This set up is from a photo I found online. The original photographer used the Afghan in the foreground to hide the fact that he was shooting an image of the CIA men in the background (at least that is my suspicion, since I use this technique to get good candid shots of people at weddings etc).

The remaining three images are from a library display that Pastor Bobby and I did for D-day this past June. We had alot of good comments and it seemed to generate some interest in WW2 history among the younger library patrons.

Excellent, excellent work again Chris! All those Enduring Freedom photos sure would have made some great contest entries. And your library display is just too cool. You sure do have a lot of great looking figures there buddy! Special thanks for sending all these in and sharing them with us. -- GL
