WINTER PROJECTS & FLEA MARKET FINDS
By: Checkmate King 2

I just sort of finished my Mark Boyd inspired, Civil War era cannon and thought I'd take a couple pictures. You know I hate indoor pictures...... LOL !!! But these aren't too bad.

I found some sort of GI-Joe Ninja character with molded long hair and picked him up to make an Indian or Half Breed or something out of him. He's not too bad but between his hair and the collar on the buckskins, he can't raise his head all the way. So I posed him like he's drawing out his hog-leg pistol.

I'm very pleased with the cannon. I'm hoping to put it and some Civil War figures on display at one of our local museums sometime soon. Sure the stitch nazis can pick it apart for details but I like it and that's all that matters, right ?? LOL !!!

Last weekend I went to a local flea market and found this scale cow, pig and raccoon. I added the sculpey horns to the cow and have plans to grind the base off the raccoon and add them all to the flatboat which is currently on display at the Loveland Ohio museum.

Then all of a sudden I decided I needed to make an anvil with some old sculpey I had floating around. I'll add that to the flatboat too. I need to improve that horn on the anvil but that will be another day.

Now, I'm thinking about building a bunker/machine gun pillbox for my Japanese....... It's winter, you have to stay busy.....what, ya think I wanna shovel snow ?????

I have to say I really like that cannon as well old buddy! I'm sure those farm animals are going to look great on that awesome flatboat of yours too. And lastly, I think you did a terrific job on that guy in buckskin as well. I'm always impressed with your early America figures. By the way, cool job on that anvil too. Special thanks for sending all these cool projects and finds in and sharing them with us. - GL
