SAMURAI IN HUNTING ATTIRE
By: Graeylin

A samurai, at leisure, in his hunting garb. I have wanted to do this guy since i saw a picture of one in a reference book. The multi-faceted kimono alone made him a "must do" from the first time i saw it.

He carries his bow, unstrung at the moment, as he prepares to leave for the field. In anticipation of a good hunt, he wears kid (goatskin) leather archery gloves over both hands to protect them from the friction and action of the bow. He carries only his shorter sword, having left his Katana behind at the house.

This samurai is not geared up for battle, but instead, for a quiet day afield, hunting deer, perhaps, on an estate. Over his kimono, he wears leather chaps, to protect himself from the brush he will encounter. He has also swapped out his straw sandals for a set of stiffened leather booties, to better protect his feet from the rocks, sticks and brush on the forest floor.

His bowstring and spares are carried in a small woven container at his hip, along with a small resin horn, for extra gripping, should it be needed.

Gotta give credit where it's due, the kimono was lovingly sewn by my wife Angel, based on pictures in a reference book. I think she did an excellent job!

Another great looking figure from you old buddy. Your wife did a really nice job on that kimono as well. You know I've always been a big fan of your Asian figures. Special thanks for sending this cool project in and sharing it with us. - GL
