M1 ABRAMS UPDATE
By: Dewback Matt

The tank needed anti-skid material on it because that is all I am finding with info online and with model kits. I purchased hermit crab sand as it is refined and smaller than regular sand. As far as the color... green was on sale so I couldn't worry about the color and had some tan left over from my daughters school project. First was to mask the ares that did not or should not get anti skid and found great info online for that ( taped off areas in pics).I then thinned down white glue and spread it on, sprinkle on the sand and let it dry.

This stuff gets everywhere and will probably keep falling out of the tank forever. I have one pic with the sand painted black so this will be a finale coat and then the sand colors. You can see some of the dry brushing on the back end over the black paint to highlight the features and this will also be done with the tan and rust colors to give depth. Also have started on the new barrel and included a few of that.

Wow, another cool update on this project my friend. It just keeps looking nicer and nicer every time I see it. Special thanks for sending this new update in and sharing it with us. - GL
