. .the GI helped me away from my burning craft, and down an embankment where we took a break ; I still can't see, due to the molten hot oil that shot through my control panel from my over heated Allison engine, and shot into my face and burned my eyes.
After a short break, we started off again towards some unknown destination, as long as it was back towards our front lines, and not the Nazi's front lines. The GI and I finally found a spot to spend the night and get our bearings, before we started off again in the morning towards safety. . . |
