SAS DESERT "PINKIE"
By: Jerry Kraut

During the Gulf War, the British SAS were sent in to Iraq to patrol the Main Supply Route and destroy mobile Scud Launchers. Some teams went in on foot with 210 lbs load each, whilst others were inserted in 110 Rovers or "Pinkies" as they were called. These Pinkies were heavily armed with various weapons such as MK19's, .50 caliber machine guns, GPMG's, SAW machine guns and Anti-Tank weapons. Jerry cans contained fuel and water to sustain the teams for long periods in the wasteland. The troopers' backpacks or "bergens" were hung all over the place. My Pinkie is still in the development stages and many improvements can still be made. So this is a small preview before the final touches prior to putting it into action. The jeep is SOTW whereas the armament is 21st Century. Jerry cans are from Dragon. "Babyface" Sam is in the driver's seat with his buddy, who sports a head sculpt from a Japanese manufacturer.

My work is dedicated to the courageous men of Bravo Two Zero...

Definitely some cool stuff there trooper. Your jeep looks very very nice. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't want to own it. You know I'm going to want to see some more pics when you get that thing 100% finished :) Special thanks for sending these in and sharing them with us. -- GL
