USMC PACIFIC THEATER PART 9

The Special Naval Landing Force Seamen have convinced Odate the scout to go with them and report his observations to Lieutenant Toyaba. They quickly march to the beach where the SNLF forces were last seen disembarking from their armoured barge.

Odate: How much further? Katayama: About 3 Kilometers

Odate: I hope you can spare some food I've been on half rations for a week.

Naito: We have plenty, the rest of our squad was just unloading a supply barge when we were sent out to locate the Americans.

Katayama: We have some fresh fish since Seaman Tobei is the son of a fisherman and he caught plenty for all of us on the trip down.

Odate reports to Lieutenant Toyaba and asks what happened to the rest of his force.

Lt. Toyaba; We were attacked by a medium bomber as we unloaded the barge this is all that is left.
