1ST AIRBORNE
BOOTS ON THE GROUND

By: Firebat

The Delta Department of Defense has announced, that on March 28th Delta's 1st Airborne Brigade landed near Balad in Central Iraq. The 1st Ranger Battalion had secured the LZ in two previous days of hard fighting. A nearby airfield was secured so the remainder of the Brigade's heavier equipment could be brought in. The Brigades assignment was to prevent Northern movement of Iraqi forces towards Tikrit, and to protect the flank of the 101st when they moved into position North West of Bagdad.

You will notice in the pictures that Corporal Collins wears 9-11 FDNY in his helmet in remembrance of friends he lost at the World Trade Center. Corporal Collins is a Delta City Firefighter. Also pictured are 2nd Battalion Commander Colonel Hunter and a Ranger Air Controller

Excellent work once again Firebat! Some outstanding looking troops here and some really great setups. I sure wish my Modern troops looked that cool. Special thanks for sending all these great looking troops in and sharing them with us. - GL
