RUNNING OUT OF 'O's' IN THE DEATH ZONE ON EVEREST
By: Hogie309

. I watched the Discovery Channel's documentary about a group of climbers attempting to summit Everest, and during the program they showed the dead climbers who died where they fell, and are still up there today.

Out of over 200 climbers who've frozen for eternity, a little over 150 bodies are still up there, in the 'death zone', because there's no way to get them down from the sheer mountainside below the death zone, where the oxygen's thicker.

I decided to make my first ever 1/6th diorama, as a tribute to those climbers who've perished, attempting to 'right things' in their own minds, or accomplish something that very, very few Human beings can say they've done.

I took pictures as I went along, filming my first idea with two climbers, where one is frozen on the trail to the summit and another climber is figuring out how to go past him (because he's died right on the trail, like almost all of the dead climbers still up there did), and then I changed it to just one figure. I then was going to make the climber in my diorama JUST running out of Oxygen and ready to radio into camp #3 for more tanks of 'O's'. Then, I picked up some HO train scale snow, and went nuts, hehehehe :) I finally decided on a frozen 'where he sat down' climber, who ran out of Oxygen and was ready to radio camp #3's Sherpa to bring some more O's to 'the second step', where he was ; but he became hypoxic and took off his mittens and thinsulate gloves, and froze to death with the radio in his hand. . .
