GRUMPY
By: BC Ries

Here are some close-ups of my Marine 'Grumpy' I have been upgrading this figure with some customized stuff.

Here is Grumpy. The suspenders are homemade. pouch on the right is a compass pouch, homemade, pouch on the left is a DML .45 ammo pouch. I added CVI ltd fasteners. Belt is DID.

Close-up of homemade compass pouch. These could be hung from the bottom of the belt with the metal hanger but there was also a loop on the back and it could be carried higher on the belt as shown. Grumpy carries a small folding knife in his pocket, it is attached to his web belt with a lanyard, that is the string you see.

Here is Grumpys first aid pouch. It is the old WW1 style two snap pouch, I made it. I gave him the old style pouch is to indicate he has been in the USMC for awhile.
His canteen is DML I added a small chain to the cap and gave it brass snaps again this is an older style of canteen cover to indicate he has some time in the USMC.

Back view his other canteen has CVI ltd fasteners added. Marines were not normally issued two canteens until after the war had been going on for awhile. This would be a later model canteen cover than the first one. Pistol is a BBI .45 with a working slide in a DML holster.

This is one of my favorite figures because of the cool 21st headsculpt.

Some really sharp work on that custom stuff my friend. I knew Grumpy was a cool looking figure, but this set makes me appreciate him even more. Great work! Special thanks for sending him in and sharing him with us. - GL
