21st PROTOTYPE RESTORATION PROJECT
By: Tank Mechanic

My friend Doug (Zebraten @ OSW) recently purchased a prototype built for 21C. An alternate history WW2 battle mech.

He asked me to help repair and restore it for the Famcon show in LA at the end of May. Got my first look at it a week ago. This thing is a stunning work of art.In need of extensive repairs. I was honored to be asked.

Started repairs today (04-07-13). Turret halves were warped and did not match up. Careful heating with heat gun corrected most of the problem. Will finish next week.

Armored skirts on legs were broken and loose.100% corrected. Did a lot of prep and clean up on other parts. Should have turret complete and lights working next week. Unit has gun mantlets on left and and right. Prototype had simple gun tubes that were going to move back and forth with electric motor. Eliminating these due to missing parts and incomplete.

Plan on making several weapon systems that will "plug in" to hole in mantlets.Gatling gun, flamethrower, various MGs and anti-tank weapons.

We are doing everything we can to respect the integrity of this piece and alter it as little as possible.Definitely a piece of 1:6 and 21C history.

Wow! So cool my friend! I have full confidence you will do a fantastic job restoring this piece of 21st history. Zebraten is a lucky man, she sure is a beauty. I can hardly wait to see the next update on this fantastic project. Definitely keep us posted! And of course, special thanks for sending all these cool shots in and sharing them with us. - GL
