CUSTOM KGB
By: Minuteman

Besides the conventional military elite forces such as airborne and marine, Russia have their special political elite formations, used for internal security. I’d like to introduce comrade Misha Rachev, who is a member of the KGB (Komitet Gosudarstvennoi Bezopasnosti - Committee of Internal Security) Border Guards which is the largest military formation of this type.

Other examples of these security forces are the Kremlin Guards. The Border Guards have a long tradition of combat action along the lenghty soviet frontier since 1945. During the Afghanistan conflict, Border Guards provided troops to quell the Mujahadeen along their border. Misha is dressed with the Kamuflirovanniy Kurtki uniform which is the standard camouflage cloth at that time but is cut like a service dress, and worn with appropriate shoulder boards with Cyrillic letters “PV” for Border Guards. His buttons on his jacket are from Cotswold. I used a TUS Sam Jr. which I painted and added a mustache. I also made an additional custom head out of the Sam Jr. I cut and opened his mouth and added teeth out of polymer clay and cut and repositioned his nose.

Trying my hand at 1:6 cosmetic surgery, and with some luck. Modified the neck attachment for quick change between heads to create different gestures and expressions. He is armed with a suppressed AK-74 S assault rifle with PSO-1 4X scope/illuminated recticle with removable vinyl cover for use during night duties, and he carries an old pattern cloth ammo pouch that holds three 30 round AK-74 magazines. Hanging on his leather belt and buckle that I made is a TUS bayonet with sheath. In time of war, the Border Guards are tasked with suppressing the anti-soviet partisan groups in the former USSR. I used a wooden base and glued a leg attachment I cut from the SOTW stand to hold the figure. This has a partial brick wall background made of cardboard and chalking material and cement walkway out of plaster of paris on top of the wooden base.
