CUSTOM MODERN JEEP
By: Captain Fisher

I've been tinkering away in the workshop lately on this jeep. I was inspired by some of the stuff I have been seeing on your site and elsewhere on the web. I figured I had to tackle one of these myself. It is about 90% done, but still has quite a bit of tweaking to do before I pronounce it "finished". ( I usually call a project "finished" when I am just simply sick of working on it though !)

The mud-skirts along the fenders are from bicycle innertube, cut to strips and hotglued into the wheelwell. The gear baskets are just scratchbuilt from scrap plastic. The roll bars are made from steelrod inserted into clear flexible tubing, bent to shape then glued into holes drilled into the body. The AT4 and folded tripod are held in place by scale "bungee" cords I made from elastic string and wire bent to the shape of the hooks on the ends. ( these came out really neat ). The 60 mount is just from the pedastal included with the Mutt with a few minor details added. The Mark19 mount has extra detail added from scraps laying around in my workshop. The light hanging from the roll bars came from a SOTW Willys jeep. I linked two 40mm grenade belts together to make the long belt from the box to the weapon. The jeep was painted with cheap tan spray paint and then weathered with oilpaint. Hope you like it ! -- Captain Fisher

Outstanding work again Captain! You just kill me with all those great vehicle customs. Your attention to details is just awesome! I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't want to own this terrific vehicle. Great work on the troops as well. I'm sure this will serve to inspire many. Special thanks as always for sending it in and sharing it with us. -- GL
