This is the advance party for the 550th Infantry Regiment (AIR/MECH). They are scouting locations to start building "Camp Catoctin". The main unit that will be stationed at "Camp Catoctin" is the '550th Infantry Regiment (AIR/MECH) They are a Multi-Comp unit that has two missions. The first mission is to provide a QRF (quick reaction force) to Camp David, Ft. Detrick and Washington D.C. The second mission is to provide quick insertion teams with light armor and air support, in any theater of operation, within 18hours.
What has happened is that the left front half shaft has broken and the mechanic (63B) is taking it off in the first couple pictures while the Rangers provide security for him to work. The last pic is of the mechanic relaxing on the back of the hummer after all the hard work. |
