DIORAMA PROJECTS
By: 11B1SG

This dio is based on a print called " Hang Tough Bastone"
December 24, 1944, north of Bastogne, Belgium
Within the Bois Jacques forest, paratroopers of Easy Company, 506th P.I.R., 101st Airborne, filter back to their foxholes having repelled an attack earlier in the day. On this frigid Christmas Eve, Captain Dick Winters supports his men with his words: "Hang Tough." Despite being surrounded and ill-equipped, the Band of Brothers would hold the line. Ultimately, the 101st Airborne would help turn the tide in the Battle of the Bulge.

This dio is based on a Pulitzer Prize winning photo taken by Jim MacMillan during the battle of Najaf Iraq. The unit involved is my old unit, 2BN 162nd Infantry of the Oregon Army Nat. Guard. A platoon was taking fire from a sniper in a building that they could not locate. A squad leader made a dummy, and told the rest of the platoon that when he lifted the dummy and the sniper fired, each soldier should try and see where the shot came from and fire an entire magazine in to that window. After the battle, 2-162soldiers went to where the sniper was and counted at least a dozen holes in his body. That story is told in the book "The devil's Sandbox" by John R. Bruning

Two more very sharp looking projects from you old friend. Impossible for me to pick my favorite of these two, both great setups and some awesome figures in each as well. Special thanks for sending them in and sharing them with us. - GL
