I bought this kit from a person who only cut one door out before selling it. My helper Max was supprised by the size of this beast

The molded parts under the box are pretty useless, but I'll have to use some of them. Most detail parts will be coming from a TUS Kubelwagon since they're worth less then new lights

I've read that these trucks flex where the cab and bed meet and I can see already it will need bracing

I discovered quickly that the Kubel backseat was to short so I've cut an edge off one front seat and the rear seat, then heated the front seat until I could bend it to match the rear and glued them together

This is a test fit picture with the shortened driveshaft cover from the Kubel to use the shifter, and the seat on a floorboard. You can see this pic was taken before the seat was lengthened

Since glue doesn't stick to the plastic they use for these I added a wooden block to level the hood and give me a place to mount the dash

I also read on another build post to cut out the grill so that was done using an oscillating saw thing

The bed on this is really warped, but another tip I read was to build a false bed to cover the plastic one

thanks for looking ! |
It's looking very cool so far my friend! I can't wait to see more of this project as it progresses. Special thanks for sending these cool shots in and letting us have a peek at this one! - GL
