EAST GERMAN NATIONALE
VOLKSARMEE PARATROOPER

By: Minuteman

This figure is a Cold War era East German Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) paratrooper belonging to the 40th Battalion Fallshirmjäger (Willi Sanger). I used a TUS snarling German on a Dragon body. His name is Rutger and he is a squadgunner. He is armed with the Rushnoi Pulemet Kalashnikova (RPK) Skladyvaysushchimsya Prikladom (S - paratrooper version collapsible stock) -74. This figure was probably during the late 80’s just before the collapse of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Wall. He comes complete with all the necessary equipment like two cloth ammunition pouches that opens and holds eight 30 round magazines, beret, paratrooper helmet, canteen, Y-harness and belt, gas mask and bag to name a few. For the figure’s stand, I used a wooden plaque from Michael’s and added SOTW leg holders, grass, rocks, and a sign that identifies this soldier’s unit and painted the base. -- Minuteman
