BLACKHAWK UPDATES
By: Dewback Matt

O.K. so I have some more update stuff for you on the BH. This is about the green windows above the pilot area and some pics of the items to "form" the windows.

I used a big heating grid to soften up some of the vellum (thin green plastic sheet) and secured it into a wooden frame with tape. Holding the form and wearing a thick glove the plastic becomes soft and droopy, then forced over the wooden shape that I carved to fit the upper area of the pilots window. Letting it cool for just a little bit I then used the form as a cutting guide to shape the plastic and not cut it too small. As you can see the forms fit well and are now glued in although I probably should have waited until the end of the project to glue them in but I am an impatient one.

Hope you like these pics-I guess this is a cheap way of vacuum forming for the beginner.

As always, the Blackhawk is looking terrific my friend. Thanks for the little how-to on vacuum forming. Those windows look great on the Blackhawk. I can't wait to see more. Special thanks for sending this cool new update in and sharing it with us. - GL
