O'DELL'S OUTLAWS
NORTH OF COLLEVILLE

By: Cobra6516

Area cleared, and Sarge gets up first, always vigilant, and expecting a sniper bullet, as he stands. His philosophy, "Better me gets it than one of my kids [his troops] here."

Sarge gives the okay, and Pvt. Thomas runs up to check the German. Pvt. "Baldy" McDaniel, platoon grenadier, covers the hill to the right flank.

"Gone, poor German. At least he's out of this mess."

Pvt. Skilansky radios in, "Contact with German outside Vacqueville. German KIA. No intelligence on him. Moving on."

1st sqd., 2nd Plt. of Easy/116th/29th ID. - "O'Dell's Outlaws" - plus the platoon medic and photographer that came along. They get their nickname from the regiment commander who has had to deal with them about bar fights in London one too many times. At least their loyal to each other, even after a few beers. However, this platoon was not at the race riot, Lt. Compton had not let them go on leave that night. The whole platoon counted their blessing for that one.

Great work Cobra! I thoroughly enjoyed your photos buddy. Some great looking troops here and I thought your camera work was top notch. Keep up the great work trooper. Special thanks for sending these in and sharing them with us. -- GL
