JAPANESE DISPLAY ROOM
By: Graeylin

Thought I would send you some pics of my room. I don't collect as feverishly as I did a decade ago, but I still get an occasional figure.

I've boxed up all my figures except my Japanese now, and turned my hobby room into a Japanese "only" room.

(technically, there's still a Scottish figure, because I picked up the new William Wallace figure a month ago, and haven't demoted him back to his box and to storage yet).

The tankette is a Type 94 made by our own Tank Mechanic. It's detailed up for the Imperial Japanese Navy, and to my knowledge, is the only IJN Type 94 Tankette in Sixth Scale in the world... A Tank Mechanic exclusive.

The Ikea cases display my Samurai up on top, and then my other IJA/IJN, and SDF figures. Some are kitbashes I created, many are boxed figures straight out of their package.

On the lower shelves, I created small displays of mementos: two displays of 1/6th items, one from WWII (like BC Ries's handmade grenade launcher and grenades, the Type 3 Heavy Machine Gun, etc.) and the other from Historical Japan.

The other three cases contain mementos from my family's time in Japan: including toys and comic books that I had as a child.

The other display is of "other scales", and Japanese Military models. Soldiers, sailors, tanks, planes, etc, from 1/144th to 1/35th scale. Also, of course, my military reference library.

Library of reference books, a 21C Zero model on the shelf, and another one (bigger) over the door. And, some misc Japanese modes (all metal Zero, and a Japanese Mitsubishi Bulldozer.

Samurai

Samurai, and out of the box IJA/IJN figures (including the 21C IJA figure!!!!) I don't have every Japanese figure made, but I think I am about 90% complete.

A mix from Samurai to boxer Rebellion, to Modern Special Defense Forces

More IJA and IJN, mostly boxed figures. The cube with the flag is Kitbash.

Two cubes of Childhood mementos, one of a small diorama I've always enjoyed (FYI, the kimono that the male samurai wears was made by our own Storm, years ago), and a cube of historic samurai gear.

The red vehicle is a Japanese Ambulance.

Cube of Historical World War II items, another cube of mementos from Japan that my family bought, and some of the micro machine JSDGF tanks (1/144, I believe) on my library shelves.

More of my off scale Japanese models/toys, and a view of the shelves on both sides of the room.

What a cool room old friend!! Definitely a lot more manicured than my own toy room. A+ for overall good looks and neatness. Of course, all your 1/6th Japanese stuff is looking just as awesome as it always has. It's very cool to see all the other scales mixed in too, it makes for a great display. I really enjoyed checking this one out Graey. Special thanks for sending these pics in and sharing them with all of us. - GL
