| "After his discharge from the Army (11 years in the Special Forces, 3 of them in SE Asia and 2 in Central America) in 1979, Charlie Matthews only wanted to work his small farm in Ecuador, spend time with his wife Maria and raise their two children, Charlie Jr. and Elisabeth. Unfortunately, the cocaine explosion of the early 80's shattered that dream, when his wife and children were killed in a shoot-out between rival drug lords in neighboring Colombia (Maria's homeland) in 1984.
