82nd ABN Pathfinder D-Day
By: Sharpie

This figure was the second 1/6 figure that I purchased circa late '90s. After my time in the USMC, I eventually became a 507th alumni so this one is near to my heart. Unfortunately the photos don’t quite do it justice, but I’m proud of it.

This Trooper volunteered for the Pathfinders from A Company 1st BN 507th PIR, and departed England at 2130hrs, along with 199 other Pathfinders, on 5 June 1944. Forced by thick fog, he hit the silk at just over 300 feet AGL, just after midnight on 6 June, 1944. Once on the deck, he shed his harness and prepared his DZ for the massive airborne assault that was to arrive within minutes. “First In, Last Out!”

Always one of my favorite US WWII uniforms from 21st! Another great figure from you for sure, Sharpie. I love how you inserted him into the black and white vintage photo as well. That is pretty darn cool! Terrific work again! Special thanks for sending this cool project in and sharing it with us. - GL
