BIKE SHOP
WITH CUSTOM MOTORCYCLE

By: Ilaf

This is a custom motorcycle that I built. It is made out of steel rod for the frame, handle bars, exhaust pipes. The gas tank and oil tank are made out of wood. The seat has a steel seat pan with pink foam glued on top, then leather is sewed over it. The saddle bags are leather. The engine/transmission are both sculpted from Super Sculpey and casted in resin. The foot pegs are machine screws that are screwed into the frame. There are front pegs, rear pegs and rear high pegs. The rear fender is a piece of flat steel bent to shape and the fender braces are also flat steel.

The frame is welded together, while the fender has been JB Welded to the frame. JB Weld was also used to hold the exhaust pipes in the motor. The Front end is made from bar aluminum for the triple trees, and aluminum rod for the forks. The forks were lathed down and pinned into the triple trees.

NOW FOR the pieces that made me do this project in the first place.... the tires are from WalMart! They are for the kid scooters and have sealed bearings. To make them work I had to machine a couple of axle spacers out of aluminum. There are 2 washer on the front wheel to simulate disc brakes and 2 spacers on the back will do the same thing.

The paint: 1 coat of Krylon primer grey, 1 coat of high temp black, 1 coat of black laquer. And a pretty bad job of mural painting using Testors paint.

Well I hope you like it. -- Ilaf
