OP VERITAS BRIT
By: Rich

Back in late 2003 when I received the DML Operation Veritas Royal Marine Commando "Roger" from the wonderful guys at Monkey Depot, I was sort of disappointed with the items I felt the figure was missing. Zoliman recently sparked me into getting Roger to what I now consider a finished product. Eventually adding to the sparse gear by getting more items from Monkey Depot later released by DML mostly. Old Roger still is meant to represent a Brit some time after their 2003 arrival in Iraq, but far better equipped.

Added to the figure was a better looking belt by BBi, two more of the rear pouches giving him two water bottles, and a gear pouch. The day pack now has a tightening strap added. A later DML release the MkVI helmet hangs from his bayonet grip, and a DML Browning Hi-Power is packed in an Armoury DPM drop holster. The shemagh scarf is from BBi but the sunglasses are DML. His cap badge came in chrome which is something that I have always wondered why DML does that. It was painted gold, followed by a couple of watered down washes of burnt umber to give it more of a bronze tone. The L86A1 has a longer and properly "laced" sling, as well his PLCE has a later version DML yoke. TUS provided the SCUD Hunter boots sporting a lightened tone paint job. I think these look better than most of the British desert boots that I have seen. Far better than the DML painted version of their black leather boot.

A very very cool project here old friend. I do like those Brit troops and you made some great additions to this one. Special thanks for sending this cool project in and sharing it with us. - GL
