The old town of Marwencol fell apart building by building until there was just the church and Marlo Inn left standing, and those two buildings were falling apart. . . So I tore the last two buildings down to start 'fresh', because a woman across the river from me was getting her whole roof re-done and the roofers were throwing large pieces of Brand New 1/2" plywood into a dumpster so she answered the call to arms and donated all of the scrap plywood to my little folks and I !!
I started construction in September, and had a finished building - enough that I could work inside of it - by the end of October. I did not make any instructions nor plans on how to build what was in my head, I built everything from my imagination, and a 25' Stanley tape measure that I found on the side of the road a few years ago, and my primitive tools :) I made ALL cuts with a Jig-Saw. I took my time, and thought about how to do things that I've never done before, and I thought myself in 1/6th scale and saw things in 'real-scale' then, and I framed the windows and doors and got fancy with a balcony, and using 'under-cabinet-lights as outdoor lights for my new catfight-club :) |
