These pics are of the WWII German SdKfz 250/1 Neu Halftrack that I recently
custom built. The first 4 pictures are of the SdKfz 250/1 Neu
when it was still under construction.
To build the Halftrack, I started out with a 21st Century Kettenkrad, from which I used the tracks, wheels, and the parts that hold the tracks and wheels. The hull was cut in half to allow the right width. Other parts of the Kettenkrad were used also. The body of the halftrack was first made in carboard to get the right size, then made from one eighth inch plywood. The front wheels are from and old Tonka dump truck I had. The MG34s are 21st and I tried to copy the paint scheme of a reference pic I found. |
