| TONY HAWK IN IRAQ. - I found the Tony Hawk on clearance at wal-mart. The head sculpt, shoes, and hands are great. Pose-ability is terrible. He looks good standing there and has no tendencies to shelf dive but... Tony is wearing an vest of unknown origin that I got in a trade. It has several 21C pouches from the VBSS set as well as the fanny pack, knife, drop-down pouch, and holster with .45 by 21C.. The gun is SOTW with some custom work on the laser. Pants, t-shirt, and ACOG scope are power team. Hat is GIJOE but repainted. Digital camera came in a Dollar Tree jungle set. Kneepads came with Tony. The glasses are from a Mini-Brats set. I colored them with a sharpie marker. Using an exacto knife, I made small incisions above the ears or at the hair-line into which I can insert the glasses. I am using this technique often to allow glasses to look more natural. |
| EASTERN FRONT MG'ER. - This was my solution to a total lack of russian uniforms. The Monte Cassino Ssam is wearing german winter gear that I removed the red band from. The weapon and grenades are from the Russian weapons set. The pack is from the Pacific Marine set. |
| GERMAN FLAMETHROWER. - I have been tossing this idea around in my head since I opened my first u-boat commander. I remembered seeing photos of german flamer crews wearing a rubberized suit. When I found a german flamer by Dragon Models on sale, I went to work. Using a new exacto blade, I carefully cut the shoulder boards off, along with one row of buttons (eliminating the double breasted look). The figure is a newer super-articulated power team figure. The flamer, belt, pistol, holster, and helmet came with the set. |
| Terrific work again Chris. Tony Hawk is awesome looking. Too bad he isn't more articulated. Boy he sure looks cool though. Great work on the 2 German soldiers as well. I really liked the Flame gunner. Great use of that Power Team figure. Excellent work all around old buddy. Special thanks for sending all these cool bashes in and sharing them with us. - GL |
