GENERAL NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST
By: Checkmate King 2

General Nathan Bedford Forrest, with his escort, riding down a backwoods byway (May 1864)

Forrest's cavalry was armed with shotguns and pistols for close quarter battle and fought dis-mounted, keeping their horses in the rear for safety.

Forrest was one of the last Confederate Generals to surrender. He didn't surrender until May 9th 1865

Confederate artillery position and breastworks

Forrest, inspecting the artillery position and his favorite Lt., manning the position.

Parting ways before Morgan sets off on his famous raid

Forrest watching from the balcony as Morgan and his 2500 cavalrymen & 6 canons ride off into central Kentucky.

New picture of General John Hunt Morgan during his raid thru Kentucky, Indiana & Ohio June 14 to July 26 1864. Morgan rode with Forrest's Cavalry prior to the idea of the raid.

Another excellent Civil War photo shoot from you old friend. Some great setups and scenery. Very nice repaint on that Power Team headquarters building. I thought about that many times, but didn't have enough guts, but as always, you're an inspiration. Special thanks for sending this cool set in and sharing it with us. - GL
