| Japanese medical corpsman. wearing a Marine green uniform, with first aid pack, and carrying his corpsman silk scarve, to identify himself as a medical team member. the scarf carried identification of the person, as well as their attachment to local hospitals, hospital ships, etc. These corpsmen were very similar to US marine and Navy medics in their duties, assignments, etc. and were often among the bravest of the Japanese Navy service personnel. |
