CUSTOMIZED M151A2
By: Gray Ghost 6

I just completed a revamp of a M151A2 to present to my Dad, LTC George E. Everman USA Ret., for Christmas. It is an exact replica of the Command Jeep he had during his last years as a Infantry Battalion Commander for the 1-160 Infantry 40th Division Glendale, CA. Circa is 1980-1985.

I have completely stripped and repainted the vehicle while doing several upgrades and modifications. As you can see I have started with a straight off the line M151A2 with trailer. I completely stripped and repainted the vehicle with the appropriate woodland camo pattern and added a second command net radio with antenna and mast. The seats have been completely recovered with fabric and a rear seat was fabricated to accommodate the radio operator. The antennas have been replaced with correct length whips and tied down to the front fenders and the radios wired with the appropriate connecting wires. The front bumper has been fitted with a comm wire cutter and operating tow points. It is not clearly visible but all of the lettering has been hand painted to represent stenciled lettering and all warnings and vehicle identification has been correctly placed and sized.

Notice the rear has been fitted with a second water container which is painted black to represent the issued black plastic water containers. Also, a field modification that was made by my father and his driver was to add two platforms above the radios to keep direct sunlight off of the equipment while at the same time allowing them a place to secure their gear while operating independent of the trailer. Look for future pictures of the first outdoor test drive.

Very very nice work for sure Gray Ghost 6! Definitely one of the finest customized MUTTs I've seen. A great bit of detailing all the way around on this thing. Inspiring work here without a doubt. Special thanks for sending this great piece in and sharing it with all of us. - GL
