CUSTOMIZED VIETNAM SOLDIERS
By: Andy Barnett

Here's one of my latest bashes, it depicts a SEAL during Operation Bold Dragon III in 1968. Here he's doing a quick Weapons check before going back 'in'. Unusually he's armed with the H+K G3 Assault Rifle, a top quality firearm and readily available to elite units such as these. He's dressed in locally manufactured Tigerstripe BDU's with M1956 Webbing and M14 Ammo pouches to accomodate the larger G3 Magazines.
(Figure is Dragons 'Oscar' with good old 21st Tigerstripes weathered and worn to suit with Dragon Webbing,Boots and G3 Rifle)

Next up is one of the 'Herd' , in fact it's an M-60 Gunner of the 173rd Airborne, commonly known as the 'Herd'. Here we see him having a Smoke before boarding a Huey to somewhere or other, it could even be be the infamous 'Hamburger Hill'.
He's carrying his Ammo in 200 round boxes as opposed to loosely strung around the Body. This way it stayed clean until needed, although he has a belt loaded and ready to go.
(The Figure is a 21st 'Junkyard Jack' Muscle body with a GI Joe head,SOTW Uni,M60 and Helmet,DML Boots,21st + DML Webbing plus a few other bits and pieces.)

I hope you like them.

Outstanding work here for sure Andy. I'm a big fan of the 'Nam troops and these are definitely two sharp looking figures I wouldn't mind having in my own collection. Inspiring work here without a doubt. Special thanks for sending them in and sharing them with us. - GL
