USAAC GLIDER PILOTS
By: Chairborne

437th Troop Carrier Group

The 437th Troop Carrier Group was tasked with delivering the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division to landing zones in the vicinity of Sainte Mere Eglise, Normandie, France, on 06 June 1944. Though equipped as infantry, USAAC glider pilots were not formally organised or trained as their British counterparts were to function as an additional combat asset to the airborne divisions. Having delivered their loads, USAAC glider pilots were obligated to get themselves down to the beach for repatriation to England as expeditiously as possible.

Very very nice old friend! It makes me think my own WWII troops need a little upgrading after looking at these great looking troops. Some really sharp outdoor photos of them here as well. Special thanks for sending this cool project in and sharing it with all of us. - GL
