CORPSMAN AT HUE CITY
By: Buzz

This is a sample photo shoot based on the main characters of a short story I am writing. The story is about a USN corpsman and his platoon during the Battle for Hue City Jan/Feb 1968.The Marines were trained in the art of jungle warfare, but at this battle they had to learn urban combat.City and streets fighting just like in World War 2 ,putting them against a very tough enemy.Well armed and trained NVA army troops dug in and ready to fight to the death around each corner. This battle has been my area of interest from the Vietnam War,and the story was written around my 1/6 scale Marines........

"My name is Mike Kady USN Corpsman USMC 1/5 alpha platoon.""We just got our orders to move north up highway 1 to Hue City."

"This will be my first combat here in Vietnam,it seems a long way from my home in Topeka ,Kansas.""Like my Dad in WW2,I joined the Navy to start a medical career and I hope to become a doctor."

"We are reaching the outskirts of Hue and in the distance the sounds war can be heard"."I have been with my platoon a short time, since joining them in Phu Bai."

"Tyson, was our asst m-60 gunner from Detroit MI."Strolls up....

"Doc,What is going on up there?"I turned "Looks like LT is making a map check."

Lance Corp Zack Collins from Dallas TX."Doc,Ty!" "Listen up and take 5!"

"Doc,Tell the Sarge what is going on up here!"

"Slick, was our bloop gunner from Chicago."
