PAINTING PLASTIC FURNITURE WITH KRYLON FUSION SPRAY PAINT
By: Okimbored

A sneak peek into the local jail

Some of the locals test out the new furniture

The furniture is about the right scale, but since the figures can't "sink" into the padding it looks a bit small

Dinner is served, for anyone who hasn't seen one before, the kid is a "only hearts club" head on an Obitsu 21cm body

You can see some spots on the wicker that need some touch-up, that stuff is a pain to get a good cover on

Everyone has to go sooner or later

Another shot without the occupant

I have added this final pic as a warning, these are all DML boots (if it matters?) I set these figures on my train tracks, the silver top of the rails was painted with regular Testors silver model paint at least a month before the figures with placed there, all the silver you see is paint that has somehow, after 1-2 months bled onto the boots, I figure it's got to be something in the boot rubber, since cloth on the rails was fine. Just to be safe I would suggest not leaving anything on a painted surface longer then nessassary.

Of all the items shown here only two of them have a tacky feeling, the table base, and only the underside of the sink, my guess is that they were not cleaned well enough before painting.

As final note, all plastic you plan to paint will need a good hot bath in soapy water and a scrubbing with a tooth brush to remove the release agent stuff they put in the molds.

Don't be afraid to try the "pink" stuff some of it is pretty nice once painted

I have to agree with you my friend, that Barbie-esque stuff does look much better painted. Thanks for the cool tip/ review on the Krylon Fusion paint. Sharp Salute! - GL
