COLD WEATHER TRAINING
By: Specialist Riker

With heavy snow falling , Sam leaves the relative warmth of a recon hummer to begin his patrol.

Here, we see just how deep the snow is - just look at the hummer's wheels. Sam's thankful for his snowshoes.

In another part of the exercise area, Joe pauses from his assigned rounds to listen for enemy tanks and other signs of activity.

Joe swivels, weapon ready to counter the threat, but it's only a spooked deer.

Later that evening, a perimeter guard spots movement and takes action. The wax bullets find their mark, and the "double-tap" takes out an opposing force sapper.

Sometimes the "attaboys" from the field commanders are no match for a hot cup of Joe. (er...maybe coffee)
